What are E-Juice Flavor Shots

Mt. Baker Vapor is killing it with shots – e-juice flavor shots.  So, here’s an excerpt from their site about what the flavor shot option is and how those added shots will affect your juice overall.

aping is very subjective. Like any flavor, whether it be food, beverage, or otherwise, everyone has a unique preference. We want you to be able to have the ability to customize your juice to meet your palate, so we offer a variety of different blends as well as the ability to add “flavor shots” to your bottles.vape juice

A flavor shot, is a portion of flavor that is determined by the size of the bottle. Our flavors are put together in an amount that we have determined to be optimal for the concentration of the flavoring used. However, because many people have different preferences when it comes to their tastes, we offer the ability to add additional flavor shots to the bottle to help intensify the flavor. Because these flavor shots are proportionate to the size of the bottle, there is no need to increase the amount of additional shots with the size. If you find that there is a flavor that is slightly weak for your palate, but it’s perfect with 2 extra shots of flavor, then you can rest assured that your two shots will be just as potent in the 30ml bottle as they are in a 15ml.

Along with flavor shots, your PG (propylene glycol) VG (vegetable glycerin) ratio also must be considered when finding your optimal flavor intensity. As the PG content increases, so the the intensity of the flavor. As the VG content increases, the flavor will be diminished, so finding the perfect balance is key. Our house blend is equal parts PG/VG (50/50), and it is our recommended starting point for determining your preferences.

Something additional to keep in mind, is that the flavoring concentrates we use come in a suspension of Propylene Glycol (PG). This means that if you elect to add additional flavor shots to your liquid, you will be increasing the PG in the ratio of the liquid as well. This means that a flavor shot is a ‘double-whammy’ of flavor intensity, and each individual shot has a noticeable impact on the strength of the flavor. Too much flavoring can overpower the liquid, and have the opposite effect of what you are trying to achieve (overwhelming your taste/olfactory senses, resulting in a muted flavor) or just an off or bad taste. As such, we always recommend trying a liquid without extra shots, at first, in order to determine what works best for your tastes.

Hopefully this helps clarify the flavor shot option for your e-juice. What is your preferred blend and flavor shot quantity? Let us know why in the comments below!
